TESTING
OF PRIVATE WATER SUPPLIES

Riverina Water County Council does not have the facilities to test rainwater tanks, private wells, bores etc. and then advise whether a supply is safe to drink. The Department of Health has laboratories in Sydney, which test drinking water. Contact D.A.L. (Division of Analytical Laboratories) on telephone (02) 96460222. A full comprehensive chemical analysis will cost approximately $160 depending on characteristics required and standard microbiological test will cost approximately $44. Riverina Water County Council send samples to these laboratories. E.A.L. (Environmental & Analytical Laboratories) at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga also have the facilities to perform chemical analyses. Telephone 02 69332849 and ask to speak to Grant Johnston. The price will depend on the water source and tests required. The Centre for Public Health performs microbiologcal analyses. Their laboratory is located at South West Pathology, 590 Smollett Street, Albury NSW, ask to speak to David Robb telephone 02 60581600. This will cost $45. . |
